Calder Project
We are going to start the semester with a small Calder project making mobiles from wire, sheet metal, rivets and spot welding to fasten them. We hope that you learn to use kentics in your future projects and learn the importance of modeling.
There's a lot more in this set of videos than we'll get to. BUT, it's good advice from a PRO discussing the requirements for passing a welding exam. He's talking about a vertical weld of an open root v groove butt joint (yeah, we're not going to do this).
We've got this video in our collection. It's a little hokey, but it's thorough (46 minutes!). I've got this link set to start at 13:20 so you can see the welding. Another good place to look is at 20:30 which discusses variations in amperage.
A decent discussion on TIG welding a stainless steel exhaust tube. Not something we will perhaps do, but the techniques and concepts can be applied almost anywhere. Also a good channel to watch.
